Having made it this far indicates that you are ready to commit to a life-long responsibility and that the Great Pyrenees fits your lifestyle (or you simply clicked through until you got here...I will think positive and assume the former however).
Here are a few more considerations:
- Do you realize that giant breeds are more expensive?
- We do not mean more expensive to purchase up-front. Rather, we mean more expensive to keep. They certainly eat more that the toy breeds (be prepared for dog food bills of approximately $40/month) and require extra-large crates, exercise pens, dog houses, pillows, bowls, and toys. Extra large always comes with a premium price.
- Do you anticipate a change in your lifestyle?
- Are you getting married soon? Having a child soon? Going to college? Moving? Changing careers? Retiring?
