SDK-LadyHawke Kennels Home---Meet Julie...

2005 Campaign
2006 Campaign
2007- The face of Eukanuba

Julie earned her American Championship in June 2006 at only 21 months under Judge Eric Ringle. Earlier, at only eight-months, she won her first group placement (group third) at the Mount Ogden Kennel Club Dog show in Logan Utah under Judge Edeltraud Laurin. This is a remarkable win for such a young dog and helped make her one of the top Great Pyrenees for the year as well as the #4 Great Pyrenees bitch in the Nation (2005).

Julie is from Tip'n Chip Great Pyrenees. This is a very old kennel, in fact it is probably the oldest Great Pyrenees kennel still in active operation in the United States. Julie's sire is Tip'n'Chip's American Legend (Duke). Below are a few photos of Duke and Judy Cooper.

Tip'n Chip: The breeder or kennel name. In this case, Julie is from Tip'n Chip Kennels.

Legend: Julie's father (sire) is American Champion Tip'n'Chip's American Legend (Duke is his call name). In 2004 Duke was the 2nd highest ranked Great Pyrenees in the United States. Duke has four Award of Merit wins at GPCA National Specialties and three Best in Show wins. He is very impressive!

Isabeau: In 1985 a movie was released called "Ladyhawke". It was a medievel story dealing with two lovers who had been cursed by the evil Arch Bishop of Aquilla. By day, the brave Captain of the Guard Navarre was a man. But by night, he became a fierce black wolf. His lover, Isabeau was human only by night while by day she was a hawk. The only chance for the lovers to see one another was during the brief moments of dusk and dawn...that is until... Well, perhaps you should see the movie.
"Ladyhawke" was set in the Pyrenees Mountains of France. It was the first movie Soo and I saw together when we were dating. We both enjoyed the movie and later decided to borrow the name of the Isabeau as part of our dog's name and LadyHawke as the name of our Kennel.
