PRACTICING ON A CARTING COURSE
Let's have some more fun carting.
  1. Harness your dog and give him a bit of stretching.
  2. Hitch up your dog
To complete today's exercise you will need a large backyard. Below, you will find an example carting course. To learn more about each event (1-6), just place the mouse cursor over the event number and read the information about that event. Obstacle: You encounter an obstacle. Halt your dog, back your dog, and travel around the obstacle. Gate: You are almost there. Stop and 'STAY' your dog. Leave your dog while you open the gate. Return to the dog and travel through the gate. The narrows: Allow your dog to pass through this challenge with you either on the outside of the narrows or behind the cart. Weaves: Travel through the cone weaves without hitting them. Turn: make a simple left turn Right turn: make a tight right turn without hitting the cone.

Following the carting session, unhitch, remove the harness and give him a good massage.
